COVID-19 and Central Grip & Lighting

In accordance with the Governor DeWine’s Stay Safe Ohio Order, CGL is happy to be operating on a limited basis.  Until further notice, we will be implementing new standards and practices to ensure the health and safety of our friends and collaborators in the production community.   Procedures may be revised at any time.
  • Until further notice, access to CGL facilities and equipment will be by appointment only.
  • Productions wishing to rent gear, vehicles, and studio space should reach out to Brad and Jared through email at or on the phone at 614-448-0095 to discuss the best practices for health and safety of all participants in advance.
  • All gear will receive a 72 hour quarantine period between rentals.  Gear that must be turned around within a shorter timeframe will be sanitized.
  • While on CGL premises face masks will be mandatory in any public area of the building for all building occupants unless on camera talent. CGL is not responsible for providing face masks to building occupants.
  • No person with a temperature above 100 degrees will be given access to the building.
  • For any studio rentals, a daily safety meeting will be mandatory to establish all set etiquette and safety standards.
  • CGL will provide sanitizer at all entrances and hand washing will be possible ant at any of six sinks on the premises.  All building occupants are expected to wash hands regularly and often.
  • CGL will offer contact-free pickup and drop off of equipment at designated areas throughout the building.  Pick-ups and drop-offs must call in from the parking lot once on location to coordinate with a CGL representative.
  • Studio time is available for productions able to comply with the new order, including occupancy and social distancing restrictions.
  • Studio shoots must have production insurance and are liable for any COVID related claims or a waiver must be produced and authorized that releases CGL ownership from any COVID related health claims.
  • CGL is not responsible for COVID claims against personnel that are provided by CGL representatives.
  • In the event where a production refuses to cover against COVID related claims a waiver or an additional charge to the final invoice may be applicable in certain situations.
  • CGL representatives reserve the right to refuse service if a threat to the health and safety of personnel in perceived or anticipated.
  • CGL is not responsible for any COVID related claims that arise during a production to which we are providing resources as a vendor.
We hope all those we depend on and those that depend on us  are fortunate enough to be safe and healthy.  Although we acknowledge that the culture of CGL must shift in these uncertain times, CGL is committed to providing top tier G&E service and consultation while protecting the health and well being of our community. CGL will work diligently to support and defend the valued network that the Columbus market has become and will remain.
